Before you jump to conclusions make sure you understand what I mean. I do not care about your product or service. But you know what? The ones you are chasing do not care either, even if they are checking out opportunities for some additional cash flow. But they do not want to be sold, pushed, or prodded. I remember an incident where we tried those old mlm recruiting dinosaur techniques that they taught me – you know go pitch and sell every where you go to every one you know.

We were out to dinner with some great friends, and somebody approached me and asked if I had heard about an opportunity I was already involved with. Guess what, he had just enrolled with the same opportunity – and this is another topic in itself – these long time friends had signed up under another representative because I had never talked about it. But anyways, our other friend was there and we both proceeded to pitch her.

Now don’t get me wrong, I am a student of magnetic sponsoring methods and recruits are phoning, emailing, and chasing me every single week. However, talking about home business at a social event was new for me. We fervently started selling our incredible business, the pay plan, the product, yada, yada, yada. Sigh….Mlm recruiting. I noticed about 4 minutes into my sermon her eyes slowly glazed over. I was now sucked into presentation mode I was like a semi with no brakes. It was almost impossible to stop. Thank god they called our table for dessert or else we might have put her to sleep.

This illustrates a very simple lesson. She likes to make money. She likes networking. She enjoys people. She has been a director in the number one network marketing company in the country and because of the old techniques they taught her she had quit and went back to the workforce. So as I vomited my sales pitch all over the group for about 4 minutes she just mentally turned off. And that is exactly what 95% of most network marketers do. They pitch, pitch, pitch, sell, sell, and sell. They do it to mostly unqualified prospects and they put the qualified ones to sleep. Nobody wants to be sold-so stop selling them. Stop recruiting them into your network marketing company. They could not care less about your mlm.

On the other hand, I have many people weekly that call me up, throw up their sales pitch on me for 3 minutes straight until I interrupt and counter with “so how are you marketing?” Then I ask them if this is how they prospect. Invariably, the answer is yes. Then I ask them if they would like to have people hunting them down with questions about their business rather than begging every day. Then I offer the misguided recruiter an answer.

See, I do not care about their business. However, I care highly about that individual and helping them succeed in their business. In any business. So how am I able to help people without selling them? How can you make money by helping people who already involved? How do you get people chasing after you instead of you chasing recruits? How can you stop mlm recruiting?

You have to offer them the answer to their problem!

To understand the problem, you must first know the prospect. Are they a tire kicker who has never been involved in networking or mlm? In this situation then you need to show them a income solution or health solution and if they don’t see a problem then they don’t need your solution. If you can get them to feel the pain of a problem then you can offer your opportunity as an answer. Then you must convince them of the validity of the product, the compensation plan, the structure, the product, and the company.

What if your prospect is already in an opportunity? Well obviously they do not need someone to convince them on the compensation plan. They don not need convincing on the structure. They do not need convincing that mlm and network marketing are not some pyramid scheme. Unfortunately, if they own a business, then they don’t need another company either. But if they are in network marketing, they are probably like 95% of the other marketers. They believe in their biz op.

They believe in their pay plan. They believe in the mlm concept. But 95% of them are not making any money in the industry. None of them have enough of the right people to connect with. They haven’t conquered the number one problem in the concept called network marketing-the marketing portion. They need recruits. They need to be in a position where people need what they have. And since ninety seven percent of the people won’t join – most mlm’rs require a way to earn income whether people join them or not.

This is called attraction marketing. It just so happens that that is what I give these networkers, the answer to that problem. I teach them to pull in hot, prequalified prospects who are searching them and help them to make money while not promoting to them my primary opportunity. Here is what is awesome: once you have helped them actually start making money on the web, most likely for the first time in their online career they will be very curious about your main business and follow you into whatever you are involved in.
